sorry I've been absent

So, between stress from my sister who lives with us, and a few weeks of sick me and sick kiddos, I have been terrible about this. But progress has been made! Today the scale read 195.2! woohoo, slow and steady wins the race, right?? Buddy Bear is 3/4 potty trained, we are still having trouble with pooping, but I have not given up! And Lil Bit started WALKING last week!!! where have my babies gone?
In other craziness, I have been thinking about preschool for buddy bear. We honestly cannot afford to send him to a preschool, and honestly I have reservations about paying for something that I can do just as well if not better than anyone else. Soooo, I have found a program that I am going to purchase (for a beyond reasonable price!), and I am going to start him in the fall on the same schedule as our local public school. The program is mostly letters and numbers, so I will be developing some science lessons myself (God help me!) and am considering doing a co-op type thing with 3 other three yr olds if their moms have serious interest, and are willing to help. I am excited and also worried, that I wont be able to keep up. If I have other parents counting on me I would feel better about it (even if it was more stressful) Also as a plus my house would HAVE to stay tidy, as there would be people here daily :D I can't wait to get it so I can start trying to incorporate science, and some field trips to the many wonderful, educational and fun places around us :D
With summer always closer, I am getting very excited to have my husband home full time and without the added stress of lesson planning or college classwork this summer should be our best yet!
I am starting my garden next week, and so will be building, tilling, planting, etc all next week... which just happens to be hubby's spring break! wahoo... yay for help and homegrown veggies! just call my old macdonald... or young Mrs Forester LOL
Thanks for reading!

.... and it never ends!

so I have decided that cleaning ones house everyday is an excersize in insanity... I have resolved to only clean once a week, and only if my wonderful husband helps! Last week we agreed to clean and spent the entirety of the day fighting before, during and after... if that keeps up I may resolve to only clean when people are coming over..... How long before I can start making Lil Bit and Buddy Bear do it all on their own??
Scale reads 199.4.... HEY! thats a "one" instead of "two" :D  ok, breathe... lets not get too excited.... its just 0.6 less than "two" but its less!!!! and that what counts!!!

yay for clean houses :D

clean floors give the illusion that your house is clean... I swear, even if I had a ten foot pile of laundry in my basement, and all the dishes we owned were in the sink dirty... freshly vaccuumed floors would make me happy! sorry I missed wednesday: the scale reads 201.2, still not happy about it...

we're working on it...

Ok, so I was royally p.o'd at the library today. I go to a family storytime that specifically advertises for families who have kids in different stages. Normally they are very patient and the kids respond really well. No one really fusses when the two and three yr olds walk around and try to touch the books, or inch closer and closer to the leaders. They sometimes whisper to each other and there is LOTS of interactions. The babies kind of crawl around, but moms keep them close. Today there was a "sub" along with one of the regular leaders. They were both impatient, short and cross with everyone practically from the moment we walked in the door. To start things off, today's theme was "trains" and for the first ten minutes rather than read a story about trains the leader tried to go through the parts of the train... in detail.. and with big adult words and concepts! And then halfway through she stopped and scolded the parents for not stopping the children from doing things that are normally fine, and appropriate! I mean they are a bunch of preschool and younger aged kids! The whole point is that they aren't and can't be expected to sit quietly with their hands folded in their laps for 45 minutes. I always sit in the back because lil bit can be a bit grabby (she wants to explore EVERYTHING) and buddy bear is kind of overwhelmed in large crowds, and we were in the back not bothering anyone, and JP was being *a little* seriously little rambunctious, and kind of wasn't feeling it too much (honestly he was bored, and bothered by the change in routine) and was running from one wall to me. He wasnt in anyone's way and wasnt being loud, and i was standing right next to him. Well the "sub" leader singled him out to tell him to settle down (he was not the biggest disruption in the room!) and then told him he would not be able to do the craft if he did not sit down and be quiet... I was so annoyed, because those are not the normal rules, normally they are allowed to move about and PARTICIPATE. If the rules were that he had to sit with his hands in his lap and be quiet the whole time, first I would probably not bring him because that is ridiculous to expect from a two yr old around 17 other 1-5 yr olds, but if I did bring him, I would make him sit and be quiet. I am just annoyed that they were so off of what we are used to.
Anyway, other than that, a decent day. I haven't jogged, but I think I will do my new pilates DVD tonight and possibly hit the gym with my sister :D I worked on getting my garden ready to plant, and decided where to put the new tiers.. I will be a farmer if it kills me :P
I got a bunch of craft stuff, so hopefully I'll be doing a lot more of that kind of thing, especially since it is getting so nice, and we can do it outside on the deck :D The St. Pat's leprechaun hunt is still in the R&D stage.... its getting closer to the "D"
More tomorrow....

brilliant, really!

The best way to keep one's house clean? Be sure to invite people over on a regular basis... but make sure it's someone you'd be embarrassed to let in if your home were in a state of disarray. For example, my sister does not count.. she lived with me for years, she'd call my bluff in a heartbeat! Thus the bright idea I came up with today... I am having a St. Patricks day playdate, to search for Leprechauns! I know, its adorable right! Now I actually have to figure out how I'm gonna do that! Eek! oh well, the house'll be clean at the very least!
In other news stuff I ordered for the kids from Old Navy came yesterday! and I was super excited to find out I had double ordered all of lil bit's swim clothes... cuz I really though I had spent way too much money on the things I had purchased, but since there were two of a lot of it, that makes it A LOT better.
I can see my floors, and buddy bear has used the potty ALL day... of course he hasn't worn clothes all day either, baby steps people!
We won't even go into what my diet has been like today...
